Lee Birchfield is a man of many talents, an Elvis tribute artist and a songwriter who is completing an album of his own original works.
Lee, as original artist will step aside at 9 pm on Friday, February 12 when he appears as Elvis Live! at The Lodge at Leathem Smith for the opening night of Door County Wedding Expo festivities in Another Slice of Fire & Ice!
Lee recently moved to Door County from Washington state. In 1995, at the young age of 15, he began a musical career playing Elvis at local Elks, Eagle, and Moose Lodges. At 18, he had already worked his way south playing the finest resorts in Palm Springs, California including “The Spa Casino” and “Casino Morongo.”
By 2000, Lee had a cameo role in the motion picture “3,000 Miles to Graceland” with Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2004, after recording his first CD, he teamed up with Gary Hansen, a local promoter to assemble an all-star eight-piece band, “The Xtroadinairs.” The band performed a Vegas-era Elvis Presley tribute show over the next 14 months.
Lee performed over 200 shows in 60 cities. In March 2005, he signed a one-year contact with the Harbor Lights Hotel, in Ilwaco, Washington and for the first time ever, he took the stage as a solo artist. Lee teamed up with “The Fabulous Fairlanes” in 2006 and 2007, performing at numerous venues around the Northwest. In 2008, he was introduced to the Parker House Restaurant and Lounge in Washougal, Washington, which would become his home for three nights a week for the next two years. Lee also simultaneously managed a six-month contract at the Chopsticks Lounge, in Vancouver.
In 2011, Lee accomplished one of the highlights sought after by anyone performing in the ‘Elvis world.’ He placed 17th in the Ultimate Elvis world championship contest held in Memphis, Tennessee, home of Graceland. The many years of living the life of a stage performer, make Lee Birchfield a great frontman. His friendly, professional attitude, along with his guitar skills and an amazing vocal range help to explain why he has accomplished so much in such a short time.
We are very excited to invite you to spend an evening with Lee Birchfield as Elvis at the Friday night opening of “Another Slice of Fire & Ice!”
“We don’t plan to have a Drive Thru Wedding Chapel this year,” says event organizer Alisa Landman, “but we can guarantee that what happens at The Lodge stays at The Lodge.”
That includes an 8 pm Signature Wedding Drink demonstration on Friday evening by Lodge owner and Culinary Institute of America graduate Paul Meleen that will feature a cascading river of fire, just one of several wedding cocktail highlights. If you pop the question over the Christmas Holiday as so many couples do, you’ll find everything you need for that Big Day at the 1st Annual Door County Wedding Expo on Friday and Saturday, February 12 -13 at the Lodge at Leathem Smith. Wedding vendors will be exhibiting from 5 – 9 pm on Friday and from 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday. Hourly workshop presentations on Saturday morning, raffles, door prizes, samples and much more all day… and the admission is free.
